Argentina says it is ready to cooperate with Uruguay's president-elect

Argentina is ready to cooperate with the elected President of Uruguay Yamando Orsi. This was announced on November 25 by the country's Foreign Ministry.
"Argentina congratulates the Uruguayan people on an exemplary voting day and welcomes President-elect Yamanda Orsi," the ministry said in a statement on social network X (formerly Twitter).
The ministry also noted that Argentina is going to work to "strengthen the joint agenda for the well-being of the two countries."
Yamandu Orsi, candidate of the opposition center-left Broad Front coalition, won the second round of Uruguay's presidential election with 942,470 votes, according to the results of the vote count after processing information from 81.26 percent of polling stations. His rival, Alvaro Delgado, the candidate of the ruling center-right National Party, received 898,767 votes. The inauguration of Uruguay's president-elect will take place next year on March 1.
Earlier in the day, incumbent head of state Luis Lacalle Pau congratulated Orsi on his election victory. He also expressed his willingness to "put himself under his command and begin the transition period as soon as he realizes it is appropriate."
