Vilfand reported on dangerous weather phenomena in Russian regions

Dangerous weather phenomena such as gale force winds, heavy precipitation and ice are expected in more than 15 Russian regions this week. This was stated by Roman Vilfand, scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, in a conversation with TASS on November 25.

He noted that the most difficult weather at the beginning of the week will be in Murmansk region and Primorsky Krai, where heavy snow, sleet, snowstorms, wind up to 22 m/s are forecast. In the Leningrad region will be observed rain, wet snow, ice, wind up to 18 m / s, in coastal areas of the Baltic Sea - up to 23 m / s.

As specified Vilfand, heavy precipitation in the form of rain, sleet and snow, ice, wind up to 15-22 m/s are also expected in most of the North Caucasus Federal District. In the Volga Federal District there will be heavy rain, wet snow, a drop in temperature and icy conditions are expected.

In addition, the meteorologist added that in the south of European Russia bad weather is associated with a drop in temperature, which is explained by the flood of cold air masses.

Earlier, on November 21, the scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand said that in the south of Russia a sharp change in the weather and a temperature drop of 10-15 degrees from Sunday is predicted. According to him, frosts will intensify on Monday.
