Moscow's Rospotrebnadzor has denied that children were poisoned at a Moscow school

An epidemiological examination was conducted at Moscow school No. 1512, where 32 schoolchildren contracted the acute intestinal infection Norovirus. According to the results of the inspection it turned out that the infection of children occurred not in the educational institution. This was reported on November 25 in Rospotrebnadzor of Moscow.
It is noted that a daily sample of food, water from all coolers, washes from surfaces and clinical material from school employees was checked. As a result, norovirus was not detected in the samples, indicating that the children were infected outside the school.
"The main route of transmission of any intestinal infection, as well as norovirus infection, is household contact. Noroviruses are highly contagious: literally a dozen virus particles left on the surface of any object are enough to infect a person by contact with them. That's why getting this virus into children's collective very often leads to the spread of intestinal infection among children", - said the main children's infectious diseases specialist of the capital, Professor Lyudmila Mazankova.
She also emphasized that the best protection against such a virus is careful personal hygiene. Classes at the school were resumed on Monday.
Earlier, on November 18, children in Moscow school № 1512 got poisoned after drinking water from the cooler. A criminal case was initiated. The director of the institution said that the children were diagnosed with intestinal infection, Rospotrebnadzor suspended the school. The agency reported that the students were detected with RNA norovirus of the second type, 30 people from 12 classes applied for help. On the same day, PCR examination of water from sealed bottles at the school showed that there were no viruses in it.
