TOS-1A Solntsepek heavy flamethrower systems of the Vostok group of troops have destroyed a fortified stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the south Donetsk direction of the special operation. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 25.

Reconnaissance with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) detected an accumulation of enemy manpower at the fortified positions. Having received these coordinates, TOS-1A Solntsepek servicemen arrived at the deployment site of the combat vehicle, where they also carried out reconnaissance of the area.

"We are conducting reconnaissance to find a place from where to work. An engineering check is being conducted so that there are no mines and explosive devices, drops from aircraft on the way," said the commander of the heavy flamethrower platoon with the call sign Vostok.

Then the platoon moved to a firing position and destroyed an enemy stronghold with 220-millimeter rockets. Thanks to the actions of the military, a bridgehead for the advance of the assault groups was secured.

TOS-1A "Solntsepek" is clad with special protection against enemy drones. The use of thermobaric ammunition allows for the destruction of AFU manpower sheltered in trenches, structures and lightly armored vehicles. During the performance of combat missions, the unit is accompanied by a cover team with automatic rifles with thermal imaging sights and night vision devices, anti-drone rifles and shotguns.

Earlier, on November 11, servicemen of the "North" group of forces hit the area of AFU personnel concentration in Kharkiv region with the TOS-1A Solntsepek heavy flamethrower system. The Ukrainian military's hideouts were destroyed by thermobaric munitions.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
