In Brazil, 23 people died in a bus accident

In a traffic accident in a forest area in Brazil killed 23 passengers of a tourist bus. This was reported on November 24 by UOL edition with reference to the Ministry of Health.

According to preliminary data, there were about 50 passengers in the cabin of the transport, 22 of whom died on the spot. One of the passengers died in hospital. It is specified that she was pregnant.

In the state of Alagoas, the bus was traveling through the mountains so that passengers could participate in activities at the Quilombo dos Palmares Memorial Park. However, the driver failed to control and the vehicle rolled down a cliff.

Emergency services dispatched 29 ground and air crew rescuers, rescue vehicles and a medical helicopter to the scene of the accident.

The surviving passengers, among them children, were hospitalized. Some of them are in serious condition. According to the Alagoas government, the state's network of hospitals have been mobilized to treat the survivors.

"In this moment of immense grief, the government of Alagoas declares an official three-day mourning as a sign of respect for the victims and expresses its full solidarity with the families and friends of the victims," commented Alagoas Governor Paulo Dantas.

Earlier, on November 24, there was an accident with a passenger bus in Turkey, in which 30 people were injured. The bus was traveling towards Ankara and collided with a tow truck and a passenger car. Ambulance crews and gendarmerie promptly arrived at the scene of the accident.
