Patrushev named Russia the leading exporter of food products

Russia is a leading supplier of many food products and is also an active participant in international humanitarian programs. This was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev in an interview with Expert on November 25.

"The country annually produces the necessary volumes of raw materials for domestic needs, which also contributes to the dynamic development of exports. Today our country is a leading supplier to foreign markets of many food products," he said.

Patrushev noted that favorable conditions for the work of agrarians and their partners in related industries contribute to increasing the results of the agro-industrial sector. He also pointed to Russia's active participation in international humanitarian programs.

"We not only fully supply our own population with the necessary types of food products, but also maintain the status of a reliable supplier to world markets, are an active participant in international humanitarian programs, providing a contribution to achieving global food security," - said Deputy Prime Minister.

Earlier, on November 13, the Ministry of Agriculture reported on the increase in production volumes by the agro-industrial complex (AIC). The Ministry pointed out that this contributes to the achievement of food security indicators, ensuring the affordability of food products for consumers and strengthening the position of the Russian Federation in the global market.

On November 7, Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut at a meeting of the Russian government said that this year Russia has already harvested 1.1 million tons of rice. The expected size of the harvest is 1.2 million tons. This figure will be a record for this crop, she noted.
