Patrushev spoke about measures of state support for agrarians in new regions

Agrarians in Donbas and Novorossiya are receiving all the necessary measures of state support in a systematic manner. This was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev in an interview with the Expert publication on November 25.

"In the new regions, agrarians receive all necessary measures of state support on a systematic basis. Last year the mechanism of preferential lending with an interest rate from 0.01 to 3% for up to a year became available to them. This allows them to obtain working capital for seasonal field work, purchase of raw materials and supplies. Now five banks are issuing loans in new regions, one more will join soon," he said.

Patrushev also spoke about the state program "Integrated development of rural areas", under which from 2025 will be annually allocated 2 billion rubles to create favorable living conditions in rural areas in new regions. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, this initiative will make it possible to improve, repair and modernize.

"Also, the agrarians of the new regions are provided with subsidies to support the production of grain crops, potatoes and vegetables, bread, milk and livestock enterprises in order to preserve jobs. Last year, 3.8 billion rubles were allocated for these purposes, which allowed to provide state support to more than 1 thousand agricultural producers," Patrushev added.

Deputy Prime Minister also touched upon measures to expand state support programs. Thus, from 2024 the processing industry enterprises receive subsidies for reimbursement of expenses from the purchase of milk and meat. Also, customs duties have been zeroed for certain types of plant products.

Earlier, on October 30, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with members of the government on the development of rural areas. Head of the Ministry of Agriculture Oksana Lut during the meeting said that sustainable development of rural areas is one of the main directions of the doctrine of food security of Russia. The tools of the state program, according to the minister, find a great response in the regions.

Before that, on October 13, Putin in a video message on the occasion of the Day of Worker of Agriculture and Processing Industry expressed special gratitude to the employees of the agricultural complex of Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions, Donbass, as well as border Kursk, Belgorod and Bryansk regions and promised to restore infrastructure in the new and border regions of the Russian Federation.
