Turkish Transport Ministry says Antalya airport closed after plane fire


Antalya airport was closed for arrivals until 3:00 Moscow time after the fire of the Russian plane Superjet 100. This was reported in the Ministry of transport of Turkey.
"All arrivals at Antalya airport are canceled until 3:00. Departures from the airport are carried out from the military runway," TASS quoted a statement from the press release.

In addition, the country's Ministry of Transport specified that 89 people and six crew members were evacuated from the plane. None of them was not injured.
"We have directed incoming planes to other airports until the runway returns to normal," added Suat Seyitoglu, deputy airport manager, he was quoted as saying by Habertürk newspaper.
The fire of the plane of Azimut airline during landing in Antalya became known on November 24. AirportHaber portal specified that the airport runway was temporarily closed because of the incident. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties as a result of the incident, the cause of the fire is being investigated.
Later, Deputy Airport Manager Suat Seyitoglu said that the fire in the airplane that caught fire during landing in Antalya was extinguished. He noted that a fire broke out in the plane's engine at the moment of landing. According to him, immediate intervention was taken and the flames were extinguished.
