Investigators are conducting an investigation into the fact of fire of an airplane with Russian passengers at Antalya airport. This was reported in the press service of the Western MSUT of the IC of Russia on November 24.

"A pre-investigative examination is conducted on the fact of fire on board the plane after its landing on November 24, 2024 at the airport of Antalya with Russian citizens," - stated in the message in the Telegram-channel.

It is specified that investigators have organized a set of verification measures, which is aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident.

About the fire of the airplane of the airline "Azimut" at landing in Antalya became known on November 24. Portal AirportHaber specified that because of the incident the airport runway was temporarily closed. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties as a result of the incident, the cause of the fire is being investigated. Later, the deputy airport manager Suat Seyitoglu specified that the fire of the airplane during landing at Antalya airport was eliminated.

At the same time, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Izvestia that Russian diplomats had rushed to the scene of the accident with the Russian plane in Antalya.

Natalia, a passenger of the plane that caught fire, said that fuel began to leak after a sharp impact on landing, and then the engine caught fire. According to her, the crew of the plane tried to calm down the passengers, who helped each other and got out of the inflamed aircraft by going down an inflatable ramp.
