- The Russian Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of Russian servicemen in the NWO zone

On November 25, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of Russian servicemen who risked their lives for the successful performance of combat tasks in the zone of special military operation (SMO).
As noted in the ministry, Guards Private Vladimir Varich during the special military operation, as part of a unit, held the defense in one of the important directions of the enemy offensive.
Being at the observation post of the position, Varich detected an approaching sabotage group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) consisting of seven people, moving stealthily in the neighboring wooded area in the direction of our units. Having assessed the situation and reported about the approaching saboteurs, the serviceman, having taken a favorable position, opened fire from a machine gun on the enemy, restraining his movement.
During the fast-paced battle, the enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group, caught by surprise by Varich's fire, unable to resist, suffered losses and retreated. Thanks to the brave and decisive actions of the serviceman, the enemy unit was destroyed.
The Defense Ministry also singled out the merits of Sergeant Dmitry Zhigmytov, who as part of an artillery gun crew carried out a combat mission to destroy enemy equipment and manpower and conduct counter-battery warfare on an important section of the front. A unit of Russian attack aircraft managed to knock the enemy out of the fortified positions, but the enemy, unwilling to abandon the positions, requested reinforcements.
Zhigmytov received coordinates from a reconnaissance group about an accumulation of enemy personnel and equipment preparing to move in to reinforce the fighters in distress. He promptly aimed the gun at the target and fulfilled the firing task.
During the artillery strike Zhigmytov's calculation destroyed the main part of armored vehicles and manpower of Ukrainian militants, which deprived the enemy of the opportunity to introduce reserves into the battle, which led to the retreat of the militants. The brave and decisive actions of the serviceman, as well as the coordinated and professional actions of the gun crew, made it possible to save the lives of the Russian fighters and fulfill the assigned task.
Earlier, on November 24, the Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of Russian servicemen in the area of the North Caucasus Military District. The ministry noted the actions of Guards Private Ivan Bogach, the unit under whose command performed a combat mission to defend one of the settlements. The Defense Ministry also drew attention to the merits of the UAV operator, Guards Private Andrei Dynda, who carried out tasks to detect military equipment, positions of firearms, as well as sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRGs) of the enemy.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
