The Donbass Dome REB system thwarted 189 attacks by AFU UAVs over the past week

The Donbass Dome airspace protection and electronic warfare (EW) system prevented 189 attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) over the past week. This was reported by Oksana Semesenko, the official representative of the FSSB of Russia in the DNR, on November 25.
"Over the past week, the Donbass Dome airspace defense and electronic warfare system detected and intercepted 189 enemy drones over Donetsk and Makeyevka," Semesenko reported.
She pointed out that thanks to the "Dome of Donbass" in the Kirov district, a UAV attack on an electrical substation, which is responsible for supplying power to several districts of the city, was thwarted. The REB system also detected and neutralized an aircraft-type UAV carrying 30 kg of explosives. It was equipped with an "unrecoverable" system, which detonates the charge when an attempt is made to disarm the carrier.
In addition, an attempt by the AFU to destroy a regional stockpile of grain crops was thwarted in the Central City district of Makeyevka. Due to the lack of possibility to neutralize the UAV, explosive technicians of the FSSB destroyed the explosive substance with the help of an overhead charge.
It is specified that there were no casualties among civilians and damage to infrastructure.
Earlier, on November 11, it was reported that the "Donbass Dome" disrupted 141 terrorist attacks by Ukrainian drones on civilians and infrastructure of the DNR. It is specified that the drones were intercepted over Donetsk, Makeyevka and Starobeshevskaya TPP. In addition, a Ukrainian FPV drone carrying an improvised explosive device with defeat elements was suppressed. Explosive technicians of the FSS of Russia in the DNR disconnected the drone's controls using special technical means and destroyed the explosive items at a specialized testing ground.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
