In St. Petersburg, a woman gave birth in the subway on Mother's Day

A woman gave birth to a baby on Mother's Day at Gorkovskaya subway station in St. Petersburg. This was reported by the press service of the subway on November 24.
"Today at "Gorkovskaya" there was an amazing event, which will surely be remembered by the subway staff for a long time. On the day when the whole world celebrates the holiday of mothers, one of the passengers right on the platform gave birth to a boy", - stated in the message published in the official community of the St. Petersburg subway in "VKontakte".
According to other passengers, the girl felt contractions right on the train and went to the platform, where they intensified. Employees of the station promptly reacted and called an ambulance. However, they had to give the woman first aid without waiting for the medics.
"The mother and the newborn are transferred to doctors and taken to the hospital. The condition of both is stable, according to medics, they feel good", - stated in the message.
There also noted that this is the second such case in the history of the St. Petersburg metro. In 2018, the first births occurred on the platform of the station "Technological Institute".
Earlier, November 21, 2023, it became known that a passenger of Pegasus Airlines gave birth prematurely on board the plane, when the crew was preparing for departure from Istanbul. It is noted that the flight was traveling to French Marseille. When the plane was ready to take off, the woman, who was 30 weeks pregnant, began to have contractions. Flight attendants and a paramedic immediately came to the passenger's aid and delivered the woman. The newborn baby and its mother were handed over to the airport medical team and taken to hospital.
