The "South" troop group of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) continues its offensive on the town of Kurakhovo in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) and is preparing a large cauldron for the Ukrainian army. "Izvestia" showed on November 24 the combat work of the Russian military.

The situation around Kurakhovo is extremely unfavorable for the Ukrainian forces. Russian troops have bypassed the city from the north and south, establishing control over a number of nearby villages.

"The enemy is now leaving their positions at the moment, they are accumulating in Kurakhovo," said a Russian serviceman of the South group of forces with the call sign Den.

Nevertheless, the AFU have created an extensive network of fortifications in the villages around Kurakhovo, preparing for defense. They have concentrated a significant amount of artillery and FPV drone units, but this has not stopped the Russian troops from breaking into the city.

According to a soldier of the Russian Armed Forces Group South, an infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) commander with the call sign Maloy, IFVs pose a special danger to the Ukrainian army. This equipment provides reliable defense.

Special delivery robots are also working in Kurakhovo to transport ammunition and wounded soldiers.

Earlier, on November 19, Russian artillerymen of the "South" group of forces collapsed a bridge important for the AFU logistics in the vicinity of Kurakhovo. The commander of the self-propelled artillery regiment, Russian Armed Forces Lieutenant Colonel Alexei Morozov, noted that the Russian Armed Forces are successfully and rather quickly moving forward. To keep up with the infantry, the artillerymen have to advance 2-3 kilometers at least once every two days, he said.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
