MP Bessarab allowed the growth of payments for the second child up to 1 million rubles

The payment for the second child in case the first child did not receive the matkapital, will amount to Br1 million in three years. This was announced on November 24 by Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, in an interview with the "Parliamentary Gazette".

"First of all, I will note that the maternity capital will grow in the following years, which is provided for by the three-year budget. We expect that the payment for the second child, if it was not received for the first one, will reach Br1 million in three years," said Bessarab.

She reminded that the increase in the matkapital is calculated not from the forecast, but from the real size of inflation.

The deputy pointed out that the State Duma periodically tries to make changes to the list of opportunities to spend such a payment, but the list remains conservative. Bessarab emphasized that the maternity capital is aimed at ensuring the well-being not only of the mother, but also of the child. For example, housing as a spending option meets this requirement.

The MP said that there are currently discussions about authorization to spend the payment on the treatment of orphan diseases of both parents and children, because it is difficult and expensive. However, there is no consensus on this issue yet.

Earlier, on October 31, it was reported that in Russia they want to increase the amount of payment of matkapital balances up to 20 thousand rubles, and the head of the Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Yaroslav Nilov introduced such a bill in the State Duma. Now the amount of this payment is Br10 thousand. The authors of the bill believe that the increase in the payment will give families more significant support against the rising prices of many goods and services.

October 30, Bessarab noted that the opportunity to apply the matkapital at any time, without waiting for the child's third birthday, will help families with children to improve their standard of living.

The press service of the Ministry of Labor reported on October 28 that Russia plans to allocate about Br2.7 trillion more to extend the maternity capital program until 2030. The Ministry explained that this will allow to provide 3.2 million families with matkapital. According to the data as of September 1 of this year, 14.3 million certificates were issued in Russia since the maternity capital started in 2007 to receive payments. At the moment the allowance for the first child is Br630.4 thousand, for the second - Br833 thousand. Now the action of the program is calculated till 2026.
