An expert made a forecast about alcohol prices after the New Year

Alexander Lipilin, executive director of the Fort wine trading company, made a forecast about alcohol prices before the New Year and after the holidays.
"We should not expect a serious increase in alcohol prices before the New Year. December is traditionally the peak month, when retailers are focused on selling stocks and increasing sales. Thanks to this, there will be discounts and promotions, including on sparkling wines," a business representative told Izvestia.
According to him, however, there is likely to be a rise in alcohol prices at the beginning of next year.
"The recent increase in duties, changes in the exchange rate, the growth of the key rate and the increase in logistics costs are creating conditions for appreciation. By February-March 2025, we can expect a price increase of about 10-15% more," said Alexander Lipilin
At the same time, he noted that in 2024 the prices for imported wine have already increased significantly: in the category up to 1000 rubles the price increase amounted to 50-70%, and in the segment from 1000 to 4000 rubles - about 30-40%. Russian wines went up in price more moderately, by about 20%.
Earlier Izvestia reported that Russians will spend the New Year mainly on Russian wines.
