Mi-28NM helicopter crew destroys AFU stronghold in Kursk border region

An army aviation crew on a Mi-28NM helicopter in a mixed tactical group has eliminated a manpower and a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in a border area of Kursk Region. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on November 24.
"In the course of the combat mission to support ground troops, the pilots of the army aviation performed missile launches according to the coordinates of the aviation gunner and destroyed the stronghold and personnel of the AFU," the ministry said in a statement.
After the strike, the helicopter crew performed anti-missile maneuvering at extremely low altitude and released heat traps that protect against enemy man-portable surface-to-air missiles (MANPADS). The forward gunner reported that the target was successfully destroyed.
The Defense Ministry added that army aviation within the framework of the special operation escorts convoys, destroys AFU armored vehicles, delivers paratroopers and military cargo, and provides air support to units.
The day before, on November 23, the crews of the Su-25 assault aircraft carried out strikes with air missiles against armored vehicles and personnel of the AFU in the border area of Kursk region. The planes carried out launches in pairs from low altitudes, and then released heat traps and returned to the departure airfield.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of Kursk Region on August 6. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
