A criminal case has been opened after an attack on a law enforcement officer in Rostov-on-Don. This was reported on November 24 in the Western Interregional Investigative Department on transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

"Rostov investigative department on transport of the Western interregional investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated a criminal case on the signs of a crime under Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempt on the life of a law enforcement officer")", - stated in the message of the body in Telegram-channel.

It is noted that in the evening of November 23, in front of the entrance to the station, a man attacked a senior police officer on daily duty and stabbed him in the neck area. The officer responded by using his service firearm. Both participants of the incident were hospitalized.

Earlier, on November 23, a man attacked two policemen with a knife in Primorye. The prosecutor's office recognized as legitimate the initiation of criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Use of violence dangerous to life or health, or threat of violence against a representative of authority, in connection with the performance of his official duties"). According to the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Primorsky Krai, a decision has been made to take a preventive measure against the attacker in the form of remand in custody.
