U.S. government debt has surpassed the record $36 trillion mark


The U.S. public debt for the first time in history has exceeded the mark of $36 trillion. The corresponding data were published on November 23 by the U.S. Treasury Department.
According to the latest information, the debt of the population amounted to almost $29 billion, public debt - about $7 billion. Thus, the total debt amounted to more than $36 billion.
Earlier, November 15, it was reported that the U.S. national debt approached $36 trillion. The figure of the national debt increased by $1 trillion in three and a half months. It reached $35 trillion on July 29 this year.
Specialists of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) called the growth of the U.S. national debt a threat to the global economy. Thus, by 2032, the country's national debt may exceed 140% of GDP. The IMF urged American politicians to carefully consider the issue of raising indirect taxes and gradual increase in income tax.
