Troop Group "West" has captured one Ukrainian fighter

Units of the West military group have captured one militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) over the past 24 hours, the head of the group's press center, Ivan Bigma, has said. This was reported by the head of the press center of the grouping Ivan Bigma on November 24.

"One militant has surrendered as a prisoner," TASS quoted Bigma as saying.

He also added that Russian servicemen destroyed 40 AFU militants while repelling three of their counterattacks. Bigma noted the merits of the air defense (air defense) calculations of the "West" grouping of troops, which destroyed 11 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in a day.

Earlier, on November 18, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that 24 AFU fighters had surrendered to Russian servicemen over the day. The total losses of Ukrainian fighters for the day amounted to 420 fighters.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
