NATO countries are not ready for a long-term confrontation with Russia. Ukraine 's ambassador to London and former commander-in-chief of its army, Valeriy Zaluzhny, said this on November 23.

"Question: which of the NATO countries today is ready to repel the attack of 2 thousand targets? And the trend will go to increase the number (of Russian strikes. - Ed.). Already this month the number reaches 3 thousand," he said in a conversation with Ukrainska Pravda.

At the same time, he said, the number of air defense (air defense) means is limited and too expensive.

"Even on this indicator, I believe, neither Britain nor other European countries will be ready. Despite the fact that there is a sufficient number of F-16 aircraft, which have excellent air defense capabilities, it is possible to completely unload the air defense system in 2-3 months," Zaluzhny specified.

Earlier, on November 23, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said that Russia is now opposed by the entire NATO bloc. However, even in such conditions, the country is able to produce the necessary amount of all types of weapons on its own.

Before that, on November 5, military analyst and political scientist Vadim Mingalev said that the Russian army has become more professionally trained and surpasses the AFU in armament in almost all components. He also noted that the command of the Russian Armed Forces in tactical and strategic aspects is superior to the command of NATO, whose instructors give instructions to the AFU.

Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine against the backdrop of the Russian special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022. The decision to conduct it was taken by the Russian president because of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to the increased shelling by Ukrainian troops.
