Russian athlete Alina Lysenko won the first round of the Champions League cycling championships on November 23, winning the track keirin.
The competition was held in France. Great Britain's Emma Finucane came second, and the Netherlands' Steffi van der Peet was third.
The next stage of the league will be held in the Netherlands on November 29.
Earlier, on November 17, Russian chess players won the blitz at the Tata Steel Chess India Open in India, winning the entire podium. Grandmaster Katerina Lagno took first place with 11.5 points out of a possible 18.
