In Ireland, 34 thousand homes and 11 thousand people were left without electricity due to widespread flooding and storm "Bert". This was reported on November 23 by the service ESB Networks.
"11 thousand customers remain without power, mainly in counties Donegal, Sligo, Meio and Galway. Crews will continue to work until late afternoon to restore power. <...> Some customers are expected to remain without power overnight," the report says.
It is specified that in the Connemara and West Mayo areas, snowfall and ice caused significant damage. The ESB indicated that a total of 60 thousand homes were affected by the storm "Burt", 34 thousand of them still remain without electricity.
Earlier, on November 22, Britons were warned about flooding and snowfall due to the storm "Bert". BBC TV channel, referring to the Environmental Protection Agency, reported that heavy rains in the north of England may lead to localized flooding.
