A robber of a jewelry store was detained in the Krasnodar region

Police officers detained a man suspected of robbing a jewelry store in Krasnodar region. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on November 23.

According to the department's Telegram channel, an unknown man entered the store, broke the window with a piece of paving tile, stole jewelry worth about 365 thousand rubles and tried to escape.

The guards stopped the man and handed him over to law enforcement authorities. It is specified that the suspect in the robbery is a man of no fixed abode.

A criminal case was opened against him under part 2 of article 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Robbery". He chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention.

Earlier, November 11, a resident of Yekaterinburg was sentenced to imprisonment for 7 years and 10 months for robbing 12 banks. He committed several robberies on bank branches from 2015 to 2023, stealing over 39.8 million rubles from them.

According to the Sverdlovsk region prosecutor's office, he used an object visually similar to a gun, threatened employees of credit institutions, forcing them to open the vault or hand over the funds available in the cash register. He was accused of committing crimes under Part 2, 4 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Robbery on a particularly large scale with the use of an object used as a weapon").
