A polar owl Buklya has settled in the Moscow Zoo


A polar owl Buklya was brought to the Moscow Zoo, it arrived in the capital from the zoo in Veliky Ustyug. This was announced by the Moscow City Hall on November 23.
The bird, which was named in honor of the owl from the Harry Potter story, is five months old.
"The little female was abandoned by her parents, so specialists had to artificially feed her. At first, the food was chopped into small pieces, and then increased the portion as the owl grew up," - stated in the message.
Now Buklya feels well, after quarantine she will be placed with a male of the same species.
Polar owl lives in the tundra of Eurasia and North America. Its maximum weight can reach 3 kg, and wingspan - up to 160 cm. These birds can see from great distances and turn their heads 270 degrees.
Earlier, on October 25, it was reported that a bear cub from Malaysia was brought to the Moscow Zoo.
