In the Leningrad region, a cat inflicted a fatal wound on its 55-year-old owner, scratching his leg with a claw. This was reported on November 23 by the source of "Izvestia".
A man living in the Kirishi district of the region, the day before went in search of the cat, which had earlier escaped from home. The owner found him on the street and brought him back home.
Later, according to the interlocutor, the cat severely scratched the owner, after which the man bled, which could not be stopped. Then he called a neighbor for help, who gave him first aid and called an ambulance. However, the man lost consciousness from blood loss. The medics arrived and pronounced him dead.
According to the source, the man was sick with diabetes mellitus, and also had problems with blood coagulation. As it turned out, the cat scratched the man's leg with its claw, damaging a blood vessel. Preliminary, the man died from profuse loss of blood.

Earlier, on November 20, a nine-year-old girl in Kalmykia went to the hospital after the attack on her pet cat breed Scottish lop-eared. The child was at home with the cat, when the pet for no apparent reason suddenly attacked the little owner, starting to bite and scratch her. As a result, the girl received severe bites on her face, ears, head, arms, legs and buttocks.
