The Russian Armed Forces (AF) have hit a Ukrainian armed forces MiG-29 combat aircraft at Dnipro airfield with a cluster missile using an Iskander missile. The corresponding footage was shared by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 23.

"As a result of an accurate missile strike, one AFU MiG-29 fighter jet and up to 15 AFU engineering and technical personnel were destroyed," the defense ministry said in a statement.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Armed Forces (AF) eliminated a MiG-29 aircraft belonging to the Ukrainian air forces on the ground and also shot down three French-made Hammer guided aerial bombs, eight US-made HIMARS rockets and 59 aircraft-type UAVs .

The Defense Ministry noted that in total, the Russian army had destroyed 649 airplanes, 283 helicopters, 36,559 drones, 19,491 tanks, 586 surface-to-air missile systems (SAMs) and a mass of other military equipment belonging to Ukrainian militants since the beginning of the SSO.

At the same time, the Defense Ministry said that the air defense units of the "South" group of troops destroyed a Ukrainian hexacopter "Baba Yaga" in the skies above the DNR. It is noted that attacks with such equipment usually take place at night, because drones are easy to spot during the day. Observation of the sky is one of the main tasks of anti-aircraft units.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
