Russia has been conducting a special military operation to protect civilians in Donbas since February 24, 2022. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, during the day operational-tactical aviation, attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missile troops and artillery of the Russian Armed Forces (AF) hit the infrastructure of military airfields, as well as concentrations of enemy manpower and military equipment in 149 areas. A MiG-29 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force was destroyed on the ground.
Units of the Center group of forces took more advantageous lines and positions, destroying more than 400 servicemen, three armored combat vehicles, two vehicles, and a 152-mm D-20 gun. In the area of responsibility of the "South" grouping, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost up to 490 servicemen, a US-made M113 armored personnel carrier, and five vehicles.
The fighters of the "East" group of forces improved their tactical position and destroyed up to 155 Ukrainian servicemen, three tanks, two of them Leopard manufactured by Germany, while the units of the "West" group eliminated up to 410 AFU fighters and two enemy armored personnel carriers.
It is also reported that air defense means shot down three Hammer guided bombs made in France, eight HIMARS rockets made in the United States and 59 UAVs of the aircraft type.
In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 649 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 36,559 unmanned aerial vehicles, 586 anti-aircraft missile systems, 19,491 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,492 multiple rocket launchers, 18,405 field artillery and mortars, 28,661 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
