Commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have been throwing soldiers into positions indiscriminately despite their well-being. This was stated by Ukrainian prisoner Volodymyr Barshay on 23 November.

According to him, the recruits underwent military training in Zhytomyr and Zvyahyl. The militants had problems with showers, in this regard there was no opportunity to wash and wash things.

"With us neither commanders, no one almost did not communicate. No showers, there was no such thing. <...> They had the task to throw us faster, throw us, throw us. And pay no attention to us, as I understood," he said.

Barshay pointed out that he had problems with his legs, also complaining of difficulty breathing, which resulted in him being taken to a surgeon.

"And he took me to the lodge to get checked out because it was very hard to step on my feet and it was hard to breathe. I went to the surgeon there and he said it was normal. It is somehow called there that I have flat feet, I need a special medicine to ointment myself," - said the AFU prisoner.

The surgeon reported the absence of strong injuries and sent to the position, the militant concluded.

Earlier, on November 18, the captured AFU fighter Viktor Shpileva said that the command of the Ukrainian army treats its soldiers as "cannon fodder". He specified that they were sent "one-way", dropping the fighters without training on the shelled territory.

In April, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term expired May 20) signed a law on toughening mobilization. In particular, he lowered the age of mobilization from 27 to 25 and signed a law on the creation of an electronic register of persons liable for military service, which combines information on the personal data of Ukrainians, including details of domestic and foreign passports. There are no provisions on demobilization in the documents.

Martial law in the country has been in effect since February 2022. At the same time Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization. Later, the Verkhovna Rada repeatedly extended its effect. Most men between the ages of 18 and 60 are prohibited from leaving the country.
