The expert told about a new method of fraud via Telegram

In Telegram there is a new way of fraud by photos that carry malware. This was told on November 23 by an expert of the direction "Popular Front. Analytics" Alla Khrapunova.
"Recently began to receive signals that Telegram users receive messages from unknown contacts with the question: 'Is that you in the photo?' But the photo itself is not visible, the message is closed for viewing, looks like a file and has the extension ARC", - quotes the words of the expert "RIA Novosti".
She specified that when downloading a file, people in parallel install malicious software (software) on their device, with the help of which fraudsters can get any information they need. Thus, attackers can steal, for example, data on logging into online banking applications.
Khrapunova added that this method of fraud captures a very large audience of different ages, and advised users to install an antivirus program on their devices, which could successfully block malware, preventing fraudsters from stealing any data.
Earlier, on November 21, information security expert Taras Tatarinov reported that fraudsters are actively evolving as users become more aware and as new protection and monitoring tools emerge.
On the same day, Izvestia wrote that scammers had come up with a new scheme to cheat with photos in Telegram.
