According to preliminary data, as a result of an Israeli air strike on a residential house in the central district of Beirut, four people were killed and 23 others were injured. This was reported on November 23 by Al Mayadeen TV channel with reference to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.

"An Israeli enemy raid on Al-Basta Al-Fauqa in Beirut killed four people and injured 23 others," the publication said.

Debris removal is ongoing, the media outlet specified.

Earlier in the day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that the Lebanese Shiite movement "Hezbollah" fired about 80 shells at Israel.

Before that, on November 21, it became known that Israel struck Hezbollah command centers in Beirut. It is noted that among the targets hit were command centers and additional infrastructure of the Shiite movement.

On November 20, the IDF Press Service reported that the Israeli Air Force eliminated two Hezbollah field commanders in the coastal areas of Lebanon by air strikes.

The escalation of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah came after the events of September 17 and 18, when thousands of people, including employees of the movement, were injured in explosions of pagers and other communication devices in Lebanon. The country blamed Tel Aviv for what happened. Since then, Israel has continued to eliminate the leadership of the Shiite movement and strike Lebanese territory.

The situation in the Middle East escalated on the morning of October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian radical movement Hamas subjected the territory of Israel to a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. On the same day, Israel began retaliatory strikes.
