Trump nominated Sebastian Gorka to be counterterrorism director


US President-elect Donald Trump offered his former White House adviser Sebastian Gorka to the post of Director of Counterterrorism. The corresponding statement on November 23, the politician published on his page from the social network Truth Social.
"Dr. Gorka is a legal immigrant to the United States with more than 30 years of experience in national security," - stated in the message Trump.
It is specified that Gorka has been committed to the president-elect's policies since 2015 and fully supports his decisions. In addition, he has extensive experience working with Trump.
Earlier in the day, Trump proposed investor Scott Bessent as the new Treasury Secretary. He also specified that Bessent can help in establishing the "golden age of the United States" and strengthen the economy of the state.
He also nominated former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi to be the US Justice Secretary. The president-elect noted Bondi's work to stop drug trafficking and reduce the number of drug-related deaths.
On Nov. 20, Trump nominated former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker to be the U.S. permanent representative to NATO. He called Whitaker a strong warrior and dedicated patriot and said he would "put America first."
The election for the 47th president of the United States was held on Nov. 5. In the popular vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
