Trump nominated Wong to be his first deputy assistant secretary of homeland security


US President-elect Donald Trump has proposed Alex Wong for the position of First Deputy Assistant to the President for National Security. He published the corresponding statement on November 23 on his page in the social network Truth Social.
"I am pleased to announce that Alex Wong will be appointed to the position of Assistant to the President and [first] Deputy Assistant to the President for National Security," the politician wrote in his social network Truth Social.
It is specified that during President Trump's first term, Wong served as the US Deputy Special Representative for North Korea and the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs. For example, as deputy special representative for the DPRK, he helped lead negotiations during Trump's meeting with DPRK leader Kim Jong-un.
Earlier in the day, Trump proposed investor Scott Bessent for the post of U.S. Treasury Secretary. In his opinion, Bessent can help in the establishment of the "golden age of the United States" and strengthen the economy of the state.
On the same day, Trump proposed the candidacy of former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi for the post of US Justice Secretary. The president-elect also noted Bondi's work to stop drug trafficking and reduce the number of drug-related deaths.
On Nov. 20, Trump nominated former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker to be the U.S. permanent representative to NATO. He called Whitaker a strong warrior and dedicated patriot and said he would "put America first."
On the same day, Trump proposed nominating Linda McMahon, who led the U.S. Small Business Administration during Trump's first term in office, as the nation's Secretary of Education. McMahon could have headed the U.S. Department of Commerce, but investor and billionaire Howard Lutnick was nominated for the post.
The election for the 47th president of the United States took place on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
