McGregor is appealing his rape conviction

Irish mixed martial arts fighter and former Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Conor McGregor said on Nov. 22 that he will appeal the court's verdict in the rape case.

"I will appeal today's decision. The judge's direction and modest compensation was awarded for assault, not aggravated or punitive damages," McGregor said in a post on social network X (formerly Twitter).

He specified that he was disappointed with the behavior of the jury and the fact that they did not listen to the full range of evidence. The fighter also stated that he and his family are focused on the future at the moment.

Earlier on November 22, McGregor was found guilty in a rape case. The victim was Nikita Hand. It is noted that before that she lost the case against another man, James Lawrence, whom she also accused of rape.
