Trump has nominated Bessent investor to be U.S. Treasury Secretary


President-elect of the United States Donald Trump proposed investor Scott Bessent in the place of the new Secretary of Finance. The corresponding statement on November 22, the politician published on his page in the social network Truth Social.
"Scott is respected as one of the leading international investors and strategists in the field of geopolitics and economics," Trump said in the message.
He also clarified that Bessent can help bring about a "golden age of the United States" and strengthen the nation's economy. Trump added that the investor is a supporter of his policies, which aim to increase competitiveness within the US and eliminate the "unfair balance of trade."
Earlier in the day, Trump nominated former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi to be US Justice Secretary. The president-elect also noted Bondi's work to stop drug trafficking and reduce the number of drug-related deaths.
On Nov. 20, Trump nominated former acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker to be the U.S. permanent representative to NATO. He called Whitaker a strong warrior and dedicated patriot and said he would "put America first."
On the same day, Trump proposed nominating Linda McMahon, who led the U.S. Small Business Administration during Trump's first term in office, as the nation's Secretary of Education. McMahon could have headed the U.S. Department of Commerce, but investor and billionaire Howard Lutnick was nominated for the post.
The election for the 47th president of the United States was held on November 5. In the national vote, Trump received 51% of the vote, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 47.4%. Later, the politician, speaking to supporters, called himself the 47th President of the United States and said that his goal as head of state considers the end of military conflicts in the world.
