D-30 howitzer crews destroyed a tank, camouflaged dugouts and AFU personnel

D-30 howitzer crews of the motorized rifle brigade of the tank army of the "West" group of forces have destroyed a tank, camouflaged dugouts and personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the special operation zone. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on November 23.

The coordinates of the targets were obtained from the operators of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Then the calculations of 122-millimeter howitzers D-30 at a distance of up to 10 kilometers in a matter of minutes all the targets were destroyed. As a result, the Russian infantry moved forward and took more favorable positions in one of the special operation areas.

D-30 howitzer crews regularly provide fire cover for the actions of motorized rifle and assault units, destroying planned and unplanned targets at a range of over 15 kilometers. Combat missions are carried out around the clock and in any weather. To exclude detection by the enemy, the positions of calculations are equipped with underground passages.

"Its versatility proved (howitzer D-30. - Ed.) at the front - starting from the manpower and ending with tanks and Bradley. We can open up dugouts on a hurrah. The enemy is trembling thanks to our gunners, responsibility and teamwork", - shared the commander of the calculation with the call sign Doc.

Earlier, on November 21, fighters of the group of troops "West" with the help of howitzer D-30 destroyed the ammunition depot of the AFU in Serebryansky forestry. The servicemen noted that during the offensive in Terny and near Serebryanka, the D-30s have their peak days. Thus, one gun can fire more than 30 shells per day.

The special operation to defend Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
