Men in Kharkiv, Ukraine, have stopped going to work, fearing raids by employees of the territorial manning center (TMC, the Ukrainian equivalent of military recruitment offices). This was reported on November 22 by the publication "Strana.ua".

"In Kharkiv, most men do not go to work because of the employees of the TCK, which arrange raids at enterprises," - stated in a message in the Telegram-channel.

As the owner of a technical service station (STO) told the Ukrainian edition, employees have "the risk of not getting to work". At the same time, some of the employees get there with caution, and some do not leave the house at all. It is specified, enterprises continue to work.

Earlier in the day in Ukraine, a man used tear gas against employees of the TCK, who refused a bribe of $200, in Khmelnitsky region. A criminal case is being prepared against the man for attempted bribery and resisting representatives of the authorities.

In April, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (term of office expired on May 20) signed a law on toughening mobilization. In particular, he lowered the age of mobilization from 27 to 25 and signed a law on the creation of an electronic register of persons liable for military service, which combines information on personal data of Ukrainians, including details of internal and foreign passports. There are no provisions on demobilization in the documents.

Martial law in the country has been in effect since February 2022. At the same time Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization. Later, the Verkhovna Rada repeatedly extended its effect. Most men between the ages of 18 and 60 are prohibited from leaving the country.
