Volk pointed out that the police officers were able to fix the hand of the attacker with a grenade, and then persuaded him to give the explosive object to the commander of the battalion of the PPSP in Frunzensky district Alexander Pikhotsky. Later, explosion technicians confirmed that the intruder was trying to detonate an F-1 hand grenade. The man turned out to be a 43-year-old resident of the same house in which the cafe was located.
