Canada confirms NASAMS delivery to Ukraine

Canadian air defense systems NASAMS are already at the disposal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported by Richmond News on November 22, citing Canadian National Defense Minister Bill Blair.
"The Minister of Defense announced that the air defense system, which Canada bought two years ago, has arrived in Ukraine," the agency said in its material.
Blair also noted that the Canadian government understands the need to increase spending on defense and aid to Ukraine, but this requires guarantees of a "good return" on investment.
Earlier, on November 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term of office expired on May 20, after a telephone conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that Kiev expects the delivery of NASAMS air defense system from Canada by the end of 2024.
Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine amid Russia's special operation to defend Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022. The decision to carry it out was made by the Russian president because of the aggravation of the situation in the region due to the increased shelling by Ukrainian troops.
