US President Joe Biden held a telephone conversation with French leader Emmanuel Macron after the test of a missile "Nuttall". This was reported in the White House on November 22.

"Biden spoke with Macron about international and bilateral affairs. They discussed developments in Ukraine, as well as in the Middle East, including efforts to reach a ceasefire deal in Lebanon," reads the message on the White House website.

The text also specifies that the leaders of the United States and France "pledged to continue close consultations."

The previous night, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine had used Western long-range weapons against the Russian state, causing the regional conflict to acquire elements of a global conflict. He also said that one of Russia's newest medium-range missile systems, the Oreshnik ballistic missile, had been tested under combat conditions.

The strike was carried out at the Yuzhmash plant in Dnipropetrovsk. Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People's Republic, called the launch a fair response to Kiev's aggression against peaceful Russian cities. Later in his Telegram channel, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose term of office expired on May 20, demanded a response from the world.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by the Russian president on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
