- Putin held a meeting with the leadership of the Defense Ministry and representatives of the defense industry

On Friday, November 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the leadership of the Russian Defense Ministry, the military-industrial complex and developers of missile weapons.
The Russian leader congratulated the Defense Ministry leadership on the successful testing of the Oreshnik missile system. He also thanked the specialists for their work.
"The results achieved and the speed of development of the new system really cause both pride and admiration," the Russian president said.
According to him, the "Oreshnik" system is based on the latest developments. In this regard, he promised to supply the armament to the missile forces. In addition, he said that the decision on serial production has been made.
As for the Oreshnik tests, Putin said that Russia will continue to test the system, including in combat conditions. In addition, the president added that besides the Oreshnik missile systems, Russia has several other weapons of this kind in the works.
According to him, a whole line of medium-range and shorter-range missiles (RSMD) is currently being worked on.
Earlier, on November 21, Putin said that Ukraine had used Western long-range weapons against the Russian state, causing the regional conflict to acquire elements of a global conflict. He also said that a test of the Oreshnik ballistic missile had taken place under combat conditions.
The strike was made on the plant "Yuzhmash" in Dnepropetrovsk. Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People's Republic, called the launch a fair response to Kiev's aggression against peaceful Russian cities.
At the same time, Pentagon deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh said in a briefing that Russia had notified Washington about the launch of the Oreshnik. As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov explained on November 22, Moscow did not warn the United States about the launch of Russia's new Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM), but an automatic alert was triggered.
The special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022, is ongoing. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
