Air defense systems destroyed five BLPAs over the Belgorod and Kursk regions

Russian air defenses have destroyed five Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over Belgorod and Kursk regions. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on the evening of October 22.

The attacks were repelled between 20:00 and 21:10 Moscow time. The eliminated drones were of the airplane type, the ministry's Telegram channel said.

Earlier on Friday, the Defense Ministry said that overnight air defense forces destroyed 23 Ukrainian drones over the territories of Russian regions. Of them, 12 UAVs were eliminated over the territory of the Bryansk region, nine - over the Kaluga region and two more - over the Kursk region.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
