A drug addict spoke about the dangers of smoking vape

Drug doctor Alexei Kazantsev called electronic cigarettes and vapes "gadgets" on Friday, November 22, and noted that Russians use them more often than cigarettes.
"They are used much more often because they don't have such a pungent odor. You can lurk in a corner of the office and no one will notice," he told Radio 1.
At the same time, he emphasized that the opinion that e-cigarettes and vapes are less harmful is erroneous.
"But this is no less harmful tobacco-containing gadget. It contains various metals that lead to the development of cancer and to the well-known EVALI disease. It is proven among pulmonologists, cardiologists, anesthesiologists and gastroenterologists," the doctor explained.
Kazantsev added that this disease leads to chronic bronchitis of the lungs and various oncologic problems.
Earlier, on November 21, the chairman of the lower house of parliament Vyacheslav Volodin said that a bill on criminal liability for the sale of vape devices to children will soon be submitted to the State Duma, RT reports.
On the same day, traumatologist and orthopedist of the Vreden Traumatology and Orthopedics Research Center. R.R. Vreden of the Russian Ministry of Health, Fanil Sabirov, told Izvestia that smokers' fractures heal much slower.
Earlier, October 7, it was reported that over the summer months the demand of Russians for cigarettes decreased by 22%. This is stated in the results of the study of the service "Contour.Market". Analysts of the company noted that this is a steady trend. So, already in the spring of 2024, sales fell by 19%, and in winter - by 16% (year-on-year). Both the number of checks and sales volumes decreased. Specialists came to these conclusions based on a sample of 45 million checks.
