Putin said that the creators of the Oreshnik rocket will be presented with state awards

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on November 22 that the creators of the Oreshnik medium-range missile will be presented for state awards.

"I would like to say that the creators of the Oreshnik missile system, those who designed and organized the production of the newest complex will certainly be presented with state awards," he said at a meeting with the leadership of the Defense Ministry, military-industrial complex enterprises and developers of missile weapons.

At the meeting with the Russian president, Strategic Missile Forces Commander Sergei Karakayev suggested including the Oreshnik complex in the armament. Putin, in turn, supported the proposal.

"Given the positive result of the conducted launch, it is believed appropriate to take the complex into service, to continue further use with increasing characteristics and improving the skills of personnel in its operation and use," Karakayev said.

Also during the meeting, Putin said that the Oreshnik is not only hypersonic, but also a strategic weapon. According to him, the Russian Federation will continue testing the medium-range missile, including in combat conditions.

A day earlier, the Russian president said that Ukraine had used Western long-range weapons against the Russian state, causing the regional conflict to acquire elements of a global one. He also said that a test of the Oreshnik ballistic missile had taken place under combat conditions.
