In addition to the Oreshnik missile systems, Russia has several other weapons of this kind in the works, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on November 22 during a meeting with the leadership of the Defense Ministry, defense industry complex (DIC) enterprises and missile weapons developers in the Kremlin.

According to him, work is currently underway on a whole line of intermediate and shorter-range missiles (RSMD).

"It is important that in addition to the Oreshnik system, Russia has several systems of a similar kind in the works today for further testing. Based on the results of the test, these weapons will also go into production. That is, we have a whole line of medium and shorter range complexes," the Russian leader said.

As the head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, said in turn, the state corporation is able to multiply the production of missile weapons.

"In the shortest possible time we are able to multiply the production of especially demanded products, especially products of the class "high-precision". If there is a need, we have reserves, we can increase it," he said.

The day before, on November 21, Putin said that Ukraine had used Western long-range weapons against the Russian state, which made the regional conflict acquire elements of a global one. He also said that a test of the Oreshnik ballistic missile had taken place under combat conditions.

The strike was made on the plant "Yuzhmash" in Dnepropetrovsk. Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR), called the launch a fair response to Kiev's aggression against peaceful Russian cities.

The special operation to protect Donbass, which began on February 24, 2022, is ongoing. The decision was taken against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
