Tretyakov Gallery exposition opened at VDNKh

The Tretyakov Gallery's exposition devoted to the domestic art of the XX-XXI centuries has opened at VDNKh. It will work in pavilion 1 "Central" until September next year, said Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina.
"During the year, Muscovites and tourists will be able to get acquainted with the works of Soviet classics and modern authors. The exposition includes more than 30 works - paintings, sculptures, mosaics and video installation. They were placed in eight halls with a total area of 2.5 thousand square meters", - said Sergunina.
In one of the halls visitors can see a panorama of paintings by famous Russian masters, reinterpreted by modern artists. In the compositions one can guess the subjects of paintings by Viktor Vasnetsov, Boris Kustodiev, Karl Bryullov, Kazimir Malevich.
Another hall presents works from the Soviet period, including paintings by Alexander Deineka, who participated in the design of the Central Pavilion in the 1950s.
Modular climatic showcases with anti-reflective glass were made specially for the exhibition to accommodate the paintings.
One of the key objects of the exposition was the high relief "Glory to the Banner Bearer of the World, to the Soviet people!" created by a group of sculptors headed by Evgeny Vuchetich.
With the help of the video installation "Hymns of Muscovy" visitors will be able to make a visual journey through the modern capital and examine the architecture of the city.
The exhibition ends in the domed hall, in the center of which a model of Vera Mukhina's statue "Worker and Kolkhoznitsa" is installed, and along the perimeter there are sculptures by such masters as Ivan Shadr and Sarra Lebedeva.
The exhibition is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 19:00, entrance by ticket.
