Among the most unusual reasons for Russians to make installment payments were monasticism, preparation of a genealogical tree, tarot and numerology services. This is stated in the results of a study of financial marketplace Banki.ru and Sovcombank, which were read by "Izvestia" on Friday, November 22.

In addition, among the non-standard goods and services for which the installment was made out, are named: goods for hobbyhorse, home cheese makers, sadhu boards, a course of dolphin therapy, video shopping, dog walking.

According to experts, interest in installment cards for January-October 2024 increased almost 1.5 times compared to the same period in 2023. The number of applications for this financial instrument increased by 46%. The average requested limit has also decreased. In the first 10 months of 2023, it amounted to Br221.8 thousand, and in 2024 it decreased by 2% to Br218.2 thousand. In October 2024, the figure fell to Br215.9 thousand against Br232.2 thousand a year earlier.

Earlier, November 19, it was reported that in October, banks issued 1.68 million cash loans to Russians for Br274.39 billion. In annual terms, the number of issuances decreased by 41%, the volume - by 51%, follows from the data of the United Credit Bureau (UCB). Thus, in October 2023, 2.86 million loans for 559.57 billion rubles were issued.
