Ukraine reported a critical situation with heating in Kryvyi Rih

A critical situation with heating has emerged in Kryvyy Rih in Dnipropetrovsk Region. This was reported on November 21 by the press service of the Ministry of Community and Territory Development of Ukraine.

According to the Ministry, there is no heating in 934 houses, 11 health care institutions, 43 educational institutions, as well as in the territorial center of social protection. It is also specified that about 110 thousand residents remained without heat.

In this regard, Deputy Minister Vasyl Shkurakov instructed local authorities and representatives of Naftogaz and Krivoy Rog Heat and Power Plant (CHP) to prepare an emergency plan to restore heat supply to all subscribers as soon as possible.

Earlier, on November 17, it was reported that thermal power plants (TPPs) were seriously damaged in several regions of Ukraine. On the same day, Odessa mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov said that the situation with electricity supply in the city is difficult at the moment. According to him, emergency blackouts are now in effect.

Before that, on November 10, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported that the Ukrainian government had decided to dismantle the Kurakhov thermal power plant (TPP) for spare parts due to a shortage of electricity. The CEO of the Ukrainian energy company DTEK, Maxim Tkachenko, said that this option was the main source of equipment, noting that there was no other choice.

The publication reported on the same day that an acute shortage of electricity in Ukraine in the coming winter could turn the country's cities into places with uninhabitable conditions, the inability to generate the necessary amounts of energy is a serious challenge for the Kiev regime.

Before that, on November 4, Ukrainian geopolitical analyst and veteran of the country's Armed Forces Viktor Kovalenko admitted that the upcoming winter would be the most difficult for Ukraine since February 2022, and ghost towns could appear amid electricity problems.
