NYT has learned of plans to appoint Congresswoman Green to head the DOGE subcommittee

In the United States, Republican Marjorie Taylor Green is to be appointed head of a subcommittee in the new Department of Government Efficiency and Government Spending (DOGE). This was reported on November 21 by The New York Times (NYT) with reference to sources in Congress.
According to Green herself, she is excited to start working alongside U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and entrepreneurs Ilon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead DOGE.
"I am excited to lead this new subcommittee designed to work hand-in-hand with Trump, Ilon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy and the entire DOGE team. We will identify and investigate waste, corruption, and completely useless parts of our federal government," the publication quotes Green's statement as saying.
It is noted that Ramaswamy on his page in the social network X (former Twitter) has already written about his impatience to start cooperation with the congresswoman.
The Republican has repeatedly expressed her position against supporting Ukraine. For example, in April this year, she criticized the adoption of the US aid package to Kiev. She called on House Speaker Michael Johnson to leave his post after he identified $61 billion in aid to Ukraine.
On November 22, Musk announced plans to reform the US state apparatus and cut the country's spending. He noted that DOGE will focus on identifying "thousands" of regulations that Trump will have to repeal.
Before that, on November 13, Donald Trump announced that American entrepreneurs Ilon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will head the new US government efficiency department. This department will have to take a direct part in the reorganization of the American government. The department will be completed no later than July 4, 2026, Trump said in a press release.
Earlier, on November 18, Vivek Ramaswamy said that DOGE will cut government spending and close some departments. According to him, American citizens should be surprised by the speed of such measures.
