Three missiles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were shot down by the air defense forces of the Russian Federation on Friday, November 22, over the Kursk region. This was reported by the head of the region Alexei Smirnov in his Telegram-channel.

"Three Ukrainian missiles were destroyed this afternoon in the skies of the Kursk region. Thanks to our air defense fighters and border defenders!" - Smirnov reported.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry said that overnight air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 23 Ukrainian drones over the territories of Russian regions. Of these, 12 UAVs were eliminated over the territory of the Bryansk region, nine over the Kaluga region and two more over the Kursk region.

Ukrainian militants are trying to strike Russian territories against the backdrop of the special operation in Donbass, the start of which was announced on February 24, 2022. The decision was taken due to the aggravation of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
