In the state of Alabama carried out the third in the history of the United States death penalty by nitrogen, despite criticism of this method. This was reported by NBC News on November 22.

"An inmate from Alabama, convicted of murder committed in 1994, died on Thursday as a result of the third execution this year with the use of nitrogen hypoxia," - writes the TV channel.

The publication specifies that 50-year-old Cary Dale Grayson and his three accomplices kidnapped and killed the girl, who was traveling to Louisiana. At the time of the crime, the man was 19 years old, and the accomplices were 18 years old. At the time, the juveniles' death sentences were commuted to life sentences because of their ages.

Grayson said before his execution that he had regretted the crime for 30 years.

Earlier, on September 27, the state of Alabama carried out the second nitrogen death penalty in U.S. history, circumventing criticism of the method. Sentenced to execution - 59-year-old U.S. citizen Alan Eugene Miller, convicted of murdering three men in 1999. It is specified that his last words were the phrase: "I have done nothing to get here". During the execution, nitrogen was let through the breathing mask of the convict, which provokes hypoxia and eventually death.
